Plans & Billing
Is the app free to use?
Core features are provided on the Standard Plan (¥600/month). Your first 30 days after download are free.
Will I be charged automatically when the free trial ends?
No. You are never charged until you subscribe yourself. After the 30-day trial, a subscription prompt appears, and billing starts only once you confirm the Standard Plan (¥600/month) via the App Store.
How do I cancel?
You can cancel anytime from the App Store. On iPhone, go to Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions, select STATSMAN, and cancel. *Note: deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
What payment methods are available?
Payment is processed via the App Store, using the payment methods registered to your Apple ID (credit card, carrier billing, etc.).
Your Data
Where is my data stored?
Data is stored on your iPhone and is never auto-uploaded to the cloud or shared with others. It may be included in iCloud backups, tied safely to your own Apple ID.
Can I transfer data to a new phone?
Measurement data is stored on your iPhone. When switching phones, migrate your data with Apple's Quick Start or an iCloud backup. *If you don't migrate, your measurement data will not carry over.
Can parents view their child's records on their own iPhone?
Yes. If your child wears the Apple Watch paired to a parent's iPhone, the data appears in the STATSMAN app on that iPhone. Data is recorded only on the measuring iPhone and is never shared to social media or elsewhere.
Can I back up my data?
Data is currently stored locally on your iPhone. A server backup feature is under consideration for the future.
Can I export data as CSV?
CSV and other export features are not currently available. We are considering them for a future update.
Can I share data with others or use it as a team?
No. STATSMAN is designed for individual use. Team management, data sharing, and comparison features are not currently offered.
Devices & Environment
Does STATSMAN support smartwatches other than Apple Watch?
Apple Watch only (Series 4 or later and Apple Watch SE 1st generation or later; Series 6 or later and SE 2nd generation or later recommended). Other smartwatches such as Garmin and Fitbit are not supported.
Does it work with Apple Watch SE?
Yes. Apple Watch Series 4 or later and Apple Watch SE (1st generation) or later are supported. For the most stable tracking, Series 6 or later and SE (2nd generation) or later are recommended.
Do I need an iPhone?
Yes. STATSMAN works by pairing an iPhone with an Apple Watch. iOS 16 or later is required.
Do I need a Cellular model?
No. The GPS model works fine — Cellular is not required.
Will the battery last a full match day?
It depends on usage, but a typical practice or match is well within battery life. *For long tournaments or multiple matches, start with a full charge.
Can I use it in the rain?
Yes. Apple Watch is water resistant, so light rain outdoors is fine. *We don't recommend use in heavy rain or where submersion is possible.
Can I measure at a field with no signal or Wi-Fi?
Yes. No internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular) is needed while measuring. Any pitch or riverside field works. *An internet connection is required for app downloads and updates.
Is Android supported?
STATSMAN is currently iPhone and Apple Watch only. Android is not supported.
Measurement from my Apple Watch didn't work properly.
Check that all permissions are enabled under Settings → Apps → STATSMAN → Allow STATSMAN to Access on your iPhone. If it still fails, check that Privacy & Security → Location Services → Maps is set to "While Using the App".
Measuring & Products
What data can it measure?
Distance, top speed, average speed, sprint count, acceleration/deceleration, turn count, heart rate, heart-rate zones, heatmaps, active time, and more. *Some items may vary by device and settings.
Does it record GPS routes and movement analysis?
Yes. Using Apple Watch GPS, it records routes, distance, and speed, and displays a heatmap on a map in the app.
Can I use it for sports other than football?
Yes. Any outdoor sport where GPS is available works (futsal on outdoor courts, rugby, hockey, lacrosse, etc.). Displays are currently tailored to football; sport-specific views are being considered for future updates.
Is there an age limit?
No age limit. STATSMAN is designed especially for junior athletes aged 13–15, but is equally useful for high school, college, adult, and senior players.
Does wearing the Apple Watch on my back change measurement accuracy?
Yes. Wearing it on your upper back tends to stabilize heart-rate and acceleration readings and reduces errors during play compared to the wrist.
Can I use it without the sports vest?
Yes, the vest is optional. The dedicated vest holds your Apple Watch and sensors snugly in place for more stable data.
Where can I buy the sports vest?
The dedicated vest with an Apple Watch pocket is available at the official STATSMAN online shop. *The app works without the vest, but we recommend it for safer, more stable measurement.

Is my personal information and data safe?
Yes. Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Measurement data is currently stored on your own iPhone and is never published to social media or elsewhere.
